MilkPEP Board Information

he U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service monitors the operations of the board, which is comprised of 15 fluid milk processors from 15 geographic regions and five at-large members. At least three at-large members must be fluid milk processors and at least one must be from the general public.

U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns announced in February 2007 the appointment of six incumbents and two new members to the Milk Processor Education Program (MilkPEP) Board, which directs the National Milk Mustache "got milk?" Campaign. These three-year appointments will be effective July 1, and appointees will be seated during MilkPEP's summer board meeting July 13-14.

"This dynamic group of individuals and their tremendous collective knowledge and experience in the industry will contribute greatly to the continued success of MilkPEP programs," says MilkPEP CEO Kurt Graetzer.

New officers and committee chairs will be elected by the MilkPEP board at the July board meeting. The four MilkPEP committees are Advertising, Public Relations, Promotions and the Fluid Milk Strategic Thinking Initiative (FMSTI).
